I was listening to a radio show yesterday morning and their subject was exactly the title of this blog. Generally, the heroes mentioned were the front liners and food delivery guys who all saved us from hunger and death. Thank you guys.
I was so eager to call the show for the first time to tell my story but I was driving so I wasn\’t able to. So I figured to just blog about it. So in this post, I want to talk about my heroes during this 3 month quarantine period and what are my takeaways during this unfortunate COVID-19 pandemic.
Hero #1 – YouTube. In this period when I learned about so many things. I learned about the latest technologies to launch e-commerce sites, I sharpened my skills in digital marketing particularly in SEO & online advertisements, I learned about sales funnels and how to close online deals effectively, I wrote my first-ever e-book and I learned how to launch and promote it. All these learnings were because of YouTube. Not to mention the vast home workout videos I follow every morning.
Hero #2 – Fiverr. This freelancer platform was my hero because I won\’t be able to accomplish most of the things I mentioned above if I didn\’t outsource some of it from the guys here. People here helped me in my SEO efforts, app designs, my book cover, and book edits.
Hero #3 – Amazon/Kindle. I bought and finished five books from Kindle during this period. I read the trilogy book of Russel Brunson, Dotcom Secrets, Traffic Secrets, and Expert Secrets. I also have gotten YouTube Secrets by Sean Cannell & Benji Travis and NLP The Essential Guide By Tom Hoobyar.
Hero #4 Zoom, Meet, Lark & Netflix – The lockdown didn\’t stop me from talking to people online, e-meetings, sales presentations, webinar hosting, and private coaching. So these video conference tools have helped not only me but most of us. Then after a long tiring session every day, Netflix helped me to destress.
Hero #5 Business Influencers – Gary Vaynerchuck, Russell Brunson, Peng Joon, Stefan James, Sean Cannell, Tim Ferriss, Matt D\’Avella, Lewis Howes, Tom Bilyeu, Kevin Hart and more who never stop posting valuable content every day that remind me to keep going. Special mention to Mo Twister with his GTWM podcast and radio show as he talks about good times, relationships, and anything outside my niche and those serve as my breather.
Hero #6 My Circle. To the people who follow me on social media and consume my content. To my friends and partners who invited me to speak to their audience online. To the clients who trusted me and purchased my products & services and my team who\’s helping me support our remaining small number of customers who operate at this time. As I always say, for the rest of my life, even though it entails a lot of hard work, is to unlock as many small businesses or starting entrepreneurs as I can in transforming their business digitally to promote efficiency and business growth.
Hero #7 – Last but not least was my SO and my mother-in-law who never get tired of preparing food five times a day while I enjoy the convenience of just going out of my workspace when we are ready to eat. This is also the period when we bond to do our love for music by jamming in FB live and do some music recordings. Special mention to my eldest daughter Fiona who I hired & trained to help me in my social media efforts that resulted in 2,000+ followers in IG. And my two other kids Charles and Isabela who always light up my day every day.
Again, thank you so much!
The silver lining during this quarantine period was our opportunity to be creative and have the time to execute our aspirations outside of what we do pre-pandemic. It is not too late. Let\’s continue to find new opportunities, new business models, new normals, and new inventions at this time, not only because of profits but also to try to make a positive dent out of this crisis.
